Welcome to the Raising Calculus to the Surface project site. The goal of this project is to develop a new method for teaching and learning multivariable calculus in which students actively explore central ideas through measurement and conjecture. Using physical models with a dry-erase finish and accompanying instruments, students can draw, measure, and grasp concepts geometrically and investigate key ideas before formal introduction in lecture.
